The Ocutech VES-AutoFocus is the world’s only self-focusing bioptic telescope. It provides the most natural magnified vision possible because wherever you look, the image will be clear immediately, just like natural vision. It removes the most inconvenient part of using a bioptic telescope- focusing, and the most fatiguing- having to hold still to keep the image clear.

Not only is it great for distance activities, the VES-AF is the first low vision aid to provide comfortable, convenient, natural magnified vision at normal near distances, to play cards, musical instruments, use the computer and many other activities. This naturally clear magnification allows the visually impaired to work much more efficiently and in a much more relaxed and comfortable posture.

The VES-AutoFocus incorporates a 4x Keplerian telescope that is coupled to an eye-safe computerized infrared autofocusing system. It measures the focusing distance over 30 times per second to provide a clear image almost immediately and at any distance as close as 12 inches.

The VES-AF provides edge-to-edge image sharpness and the widest field-of-view available in a 4x power bioptic system. It was developed with funding from the National Eye Institute and has been proven effective in NIH-funded clinical trials.

Prescribed for the better seeing eye, the VES-AutoFocus is mounted onto specially designed eyeglass frames, available in many colors and sizes. Your normal distance prescription and bifocal can also be incorporated. Its novel readjustable mounting system lets future prescription changes be easily accommodated.

Operated with a separate, rechargeable battery, the VES-AutoFocus can be used for over 8 hours continuously. Many individuals wear it for many hours each day. This breakthrough low vision aid has been adopted by practitioners and the visually impaired throughout the world.
