American Academy of Optometry announces 2021 recipients of the first annual Ocutech Low Vision Research Awards

To promote increased interest in Low Vision Rehabilitation, and in collaboration with the Low Vision Section of the American Academy of Optometry (AAO), Ocutech, Inc. initiated its inaugural Low Vision Young Researcher Awards at the 2021 AAO Conference in Boston, MA.

Open to senior optometry students, optometrists in low vision residency programs, and optometrists within 3 years of graduation, the $750 award will be made to three individuals who are the primary authors of research posters or oral papers selected for special recognition by the AAO Low Vision Section abstract/papers committee for presentation at the AAO meeting for the current year. The recipients will be invited to present summaries of their work at the Low Vision Section meeting held in Boston, November 3, 2021.

The recipients, mentors and titles of the 2021 Awards are:
